Thank god Battlefield 6 won't make you use the EA App on Steam but it will if you're on Epic

short-reviews Aug 2, 2025

The announcement regarding Battlefield 6 is a mixed bag for players. While Steam users can rejoice at not needing the EA App, Epic users are left in the lurch. EA's explanation is vague, stating the EA App is for tracking progress, but that doesn't excuse the extra hurdle for Epic users. The EA App itself has a notorious reputation for being buggy and frustrating. - Constant relogging issues - Frequent crashes - Inconsistent achievement tracking It's a relief for Steam players, but it feels like EA is still playing favorites. As much as I appreciate the small victories, this divide is indicative of a larger problem in the industry. One can only hope EA continues this trend of rational decisions moving forward.
